David Hazan, DMD, B. Eng

Originally from Montreal, Canada, Dr. David Hazan earned his mechanical engineering degree from McGill University. During his time at McGill, Dr. Hazan developed a vivid interest in dental implants and mechanical prostheses. This interest led him to Temple University School of Dentistry, where he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 1997. He began practicing dentistry that same year and joined Maitland Square Dentistry in 1999.

Dr. Hazan frequently treats patients with complex dental needs, including those seeking emergency care, second opinions, full-mouth reconstruction, implant treatment, surgical extractions, root canal therapy, and solutions for extensive or failed dental work. His approach is centered on private, personalized care, thoughtful treatment planning, and helping patients understand their options without pressure.

His clinical focus includes implant placement and restoration, routine and surgical extractions, wisdom tooth removal, root canal treatment, sedation dentistry, full-mouth reconstruction, complex restorative care, second opinions, and treatment for patients with extensive or failed dental work. Dr. Hazan is known for providing comfortable, private, personalized care and for taking a no-pressure approach to helping patients understand their treatment options.

For nearly three decades, Dr. Hazan has provided restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, surgical, implant, and emergency dental care. His experience includes more than 30,000 tooth extractions, more than 10,000 wisdom tooth extractions, more than 5,000 root canal cases, more than 5,000 dental crowns, more than 3,000 dental implants placed, more than 5,000 implant restorations, and more than 250 full-mouth reconstruction cases. He has also completed thousands of bridges, veneers, dentures, periodontal therapy cases, sedation dentistry cases, clear aligner cases, and other complex restorative procedures.

Dedicated to providing his patients with advanced treatment options, Dr. Hazan has completed more than 2,500 hours of continuing education. His advanced training includes the NYU Maxi Course in 2001, extensive implant education, and sedation certification through Montefiore in 2012. He has also completed significant continuing education in endodontics, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, prosthodontics, periodontal therapy, orthodontics, TMJ treatment, and sedation dentistry.

In addition to treating patients, Dr. Hazan teaches implant dentistry through the University of Miami foreign externship residency program. He has published articles, contributed to dental research, presented clinical cases, and held a leadership role with a local ADA chapter.

Dr. Hazan has also been at the forefront of zirconia ceramic implant dentistry. His practice was the first in the area to offer zirconia ceramic biocompatible dental implants, and he holds the patent for the first zirconia ceramic dental implants in the country. Patients travel from outside the area for this advanced treatment, including next-day zirconia ceramic implant options for appropriate cases.

Dr. Hazan is a master and fellow with the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI) and a fellow with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID).
